Zippo President Joins Board

Gregory W. Booth, president and chief executive officer of Zippo Manufacturing Company, has been appointed to the board of directors of Continental 1 – the transformational project that will create jobs, economic development, international connection and safe roads by completing Route 219 and the 1,500-mile Continental 1 trade corridor between Toronto and Miami.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Booth has also completed the Executive Business Management curricula at the University of Western Ontario and American Management Association courses.

Booth has been president and chief executive officer of Zippo since February 2001. Prior to that, he spent nearly 30 years with Kendall Motor Oil and Sunoco Lubricants in a variety of sales and marketing and management positions. He is also chairman of the board of W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Co. and Zippo Fashion Italia, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Zippo.

A resident of Bradford, Pa., Booth has served on various boards in Bradford and Northwestern Pennsylvania, including the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford as chairman of the Institutional Advancement Committee, Beacon Light Behavioral Systems of Bradford, United Way of the Bradford Area, Bradford Club, Pennhills Club, Bradford Nursing Pavilion, The Bradford Area Alliance and the Hamot Medical Center Board of Corporators in Erie, Pa.

In 2005, Booth was voted Businessman of the Year by the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce and in March 2007, he was selected by Indiana University of Pennsylvania as one of its Distinguished Alumni.
