The Route 219 Corridor in Cattaraugus County is in need of some revitalization, and a committee convened last night to begin the fight for funding to make it happen. It’s been nearly five years since the State Department of Transportation pulled funding for an environmental impact study meant to help develop that corridor from I-86 to Salamanca. Officials are hoping to make that section of 219 a four lane road – to help decrease travel time to Buffalo, and thus increasing revenue to the twin tiers.
